John- When you say "I wonder when MS will start putting the squeeze on Intel for cheaper chips", it just show that you don't understand business.

There's the squeeze and then there's the squeeze. While companies are always looking for price reductions from their vendors, there's lots of variables: history with the vendor, availability of a viable alternative, quality issues, etc. The Msft/Intc relationship is very complex, so it's hard to say how hard Msft would squeeze.
