<I do not suppose you have reconsidered the role of gold in your portfolio?>

Okay Jay, I admit it. Yesterday, I finally bought a gold ingot. It was for my wife's birthday. I got it inscribed specially.

It was only a small purchase to dabble in the market, but it was fun.

I'm not sure about the purity, weight and other details but it looked good. I think it is only a thin layer of gold too, but it looks nice. It cost NZ$25 including the engraving, so I don't think it contains a LOT of gold. But hey, [as they say], it's a start.

Cash, gold and CDMA. Ahhhh, bliss!

PS: A couple of decades ago I had a gold wedding ring, but it fell off during a waterskiing crash in Maine and now lives at the bottom of a clear, sandy-bottomed lake. Which is quite a romantic setting for it really. We were visiting a cousin of my wife's [and his family] with our little Canadian baby [Tarken]. Happy memories are made in peculiar ways.

A few days ago I had a good idea for a large amount of gold, but when I realized how little gold one gets for a lot of money, I'm rethinking the engineering of my design.
