while in st. louis this summer visiting daughter & son-in-law (who is a tool nut)(and me being an ex-contractor) went to a newly constructed HD - place was empty, cashiers with hands in their pockets. also a brand new LOW - same thing. where i'm located in WA state, a new HD will soon be constructed within a 10 mile radius of an existing HD (plus, we already have a LOW).
the word saturation comes to mind. would i be correct in looking for revenue/store in the upcoming earnings report?
i can't imagine the cost of keeping these outlets open unless volume/customers increase, which to me, seems unlikely with the way the REAL economy is headed.
