Given Imaging and ProVation(TM) Medical Launch New Capsule Endoscopy
Reporting Module
Further Mainstreaming of Given's M2A(R) as it Connects to ProVation MD
Reporting System

ATLANTA and MINNEAPOLIS, May 14, 2002 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Given Imaging
(Nasdaq: GIVN), manufacturer of the Given(R) Diagnostic System, including the
M2A(R) capsule endoscope, and ProVation Medical (formerly cMore Medical
Solutions), maker of ProVation MD medical documentation and coding compliance
software, today announced the launch of functionality that will facilitate
documentation of gastrointestinal procedures using the M2A capsule endoscope.
The new features will allow the gastroenterologist to complete required
administrative procedures quickly and comprehensively, while enabling the report
to be part of the electronic medical record.

The ProVation and Given Imaging collaborative functionality will be first
presented at the Digestive Disease Week Conference in San Francisco, May 19-22,
providing Given Diagnostic System users the ability to export images and other
data to the ProVation MD software, and print a dedicated report of the capsule
endoscopy procedure with diagnostic findings.

"I am pleased that our customers can now benefit from an advanced GI test
together with an advanced medical documentation and coding compliance system,"
says Dr. Gavriel Meron, president and chief executive officer, Given Imaging.
"The launch of standard reporting capabilities is an important step in the
mainstreaming of the M2A diagnostic test."

"By connecting Given Imaging's technology with ProVation's award winning
ProVation MD/RN software, both companies are demonstrating their commitment to
keeping their customers abreast of the latest advances in gastroenterology,"
says Arvind Subramanian, chief marketing and product development officer,
ProVation Medical.

About Given Imaging

Given Imaging produces and markets the Given Diagnostic System, which features
the M2A(R) Capsule Endoscope, a fundamentally new approach to examining the
gastrointestinal tract. The system uses a disposable miniature video camera
contained in a capsule that is ingested by a patient and delivers high quality
color images in a painless and noninvasive manner. The test can be conducted
while a patient continues normal daily activities. The system received clearance
from the FDA in August 2001 and received permission to affix the CE mark in May
2001. It is currently available in 33 countries worldwide, including the USA,
Canada, Europe, Central and South America and Asia. Many thousands of patients
suffering from diseases in the small intestine such as Crohn's, celiac disease,
unexplained abdominal pain with diarrhea, polyposis, intestinal tumors, iron
deficiency anemia and obscure bleeding have already benefited from this
innovative technology. For more information, visit givenimaging.com .
