I'm inclined to agree with you. Listening to President Bush, one could be easily lead to the conclusion that Saudi Arabia is a great friend and ally of the US, and that he is dealing with them as such.

If our leaders won't talk about the problem you mentioned, there is little hope for building a consensus to defend ourselves.
