Tenchusatsu, Re: "Then why is AMD still singing the praises of Linux, especially with regard to x86-64? Wouldn't it make sense for AMD to secure Microsoft's support and call Linux "obscure software" (tm Stevie)?"

AMD is hedging right now, since Microsoft could at any time decide to "delay" their x86-64 product offering. But notice that AMD is slowly de-emphasizing Linux, while re-emphasizing Windows. All it would take is a few more "favors" from good 'ol Billy (who now has a motive to "punish" Intel for their Linux support), and AMD will make Linux x86-64 look like yesterday's garbage - at least until Windows x86-64 is a done deal. At that point, AMD can go and do whatever they want, including becoming new "best friends" with Gerhard Burtscher (SuSE CEO) once again.
