Market Report -- Story Stocks (WTW, PSUN, JWN)

After Hours Monday Price changes vs 4pm ET: Very quiet after hours session with the market holding on to a mixed to slightly weaker bias. On the earnings front Weight Watchers (WTW close 39.35) weighed in with a $0.06 better than consensus Q1 EPS report with revenue also above the consensus ($212.5 mln vs $194.85 mln). Pacific Sunwear (PSUN +1.5%) reported in line for Q1 with revenue below consensus ($161.7 mln vs $164.56 mln). Company had warned for Q1 last Thursday. Also in retail, Nordstrom (JWN close 24.46) will acquire all of the minority interest in Nordstrom.com for $70 million from venture capital firms that hold a minority interest; transaction will result in a non-recurring charge equal to the difference between that $70 million and the fair value of the shares acquired. On the economic front tomorrow is Retail Sales for April. The consensus estimate is +0.6% with x-auto expected at +0.7%. The data is the first of several reports this week that will provide a gauge of consumer strength/sentiment. In after hours trade the S&P futures, currently at 1075.10, is trading 0.1 points above fair value, the Nasdaq 100 futures, currently at 1241.50, is trading 2.5 points below fair value while the Nasdaq 100 AHI is down 0.52 points.
