So you're a tax expert? Tell me, how much of a tax advantage does Stanley need to "stay competitive"? Should we give similar tax breaks to all large firms with bad management? What should the litmus test be?

Re: "Do you have any idea what it costs to move a corporate HQ?"

Not much. Past stories have indicated that such a move to Bermuda would be largely symbolic ... that the actual HQ would remain in New Britain, Connecticut. It's not a complicated deal: (1) have corporation registered with government of Bermuda; (2) obtain post office box; (3) set up an office with a desk, a telephone, a coffee pot and a fax machine; (4) buy several pairs of bermuda shorts and obtain membership at the Benedict Arnold Country Club.

By the way, a recent poll I saw indicates that a strong majority of the American people side with what you term "you liberals" on this one.

This whole Stanley deal stinks. I know it, you know it, everyone on this board knows it.
