I agree that is the only really meaningful comparison. Barrick's recent (three week)relative strength is interesting. I would guess that the Peruvian discovery really is significant(I don't frankly have a clue) or the rumours about a combination with another gold company are true and the market is either more favorable toward the reduction in hedges that this would entail or the street is pumping the stock up for a hostile all stock bid by Barrick for one of the guys in a white hat.
