It is the height of chauvinism to have two sets of moral standards (one of them lower for "third-worlders"). Middle Easterners are not exactly stereotypical primitives anyway. That region has been civilized far longer than most of Europe. In fact, it is the cradle of western civilization.

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait do not feel threatened by Iraq today, because of our stand against Iraq. Prior to the Gulf War, they were very threatened by Iraq.

So what do you think we should do about the Turkish occupation of Cyprus - cut off military support, boycott, what?

If we don't go to war against Iraq and support lifting the embargo and Iraq again invades Kuwait and invades Saudi Arabia, should we do anything?
