<font color=green>From TMF:MirrorBit stores two bits per cell by creating two distinct storage nodes per cell in a layer of nitride deposited below the cell's gate. By contrast, Intel's StrataFlash approach uses four distinct levels of charge to create two bits per cell.

What is different: compared to 64MB parts from Intel and AMD,

Price: MirrorBit Flash sells at $7.95 vs Intel's StrataFlash at $16. AMD has price advantage.
A. Access time: MirrorBit 90ns, StrataFlash N/A.
P. Access time: MirrorBit 25ns, StrataFlash N/A.
Write speed: MirrorBit 47ns/Byte(16 word/6us), StrataFlash 6000ns/Byte (6us/Byte).
Erase time: MirrorBit 0.64ns/Byte(64KB/100us), 10 times faster than Intel.
Voltage: MirrorBit 3.0v on .18u process(1.8v at yearend), StrataFlash 5v, (1.8v in Aug-2002)

AMD MirrorBit roadmap
A 1.8-V MirrorBit part will require AMD to upgrade to a 0.13-micron process at its flash fabs in Japan, The 0.13-micron process will be ready next year at one fab in Japan, and later for the other two flash facilities. the company said. By 2004, that process will support a gigabit-density MirrorBit part. Fab25 will be mass produce 64MB MirrorBit from Q3 and converts to .13u by yearend according to AMD.

Intel 1.8 Volt Wireless Flash Memory: Pricing and Availability
The Intel 1.8 Volt Wireless Flash memory will be available in 64- and 32-Mbit densities. The 64-Mbit density is currently sampling and will be in production in August, while the 32-Mbit density will sample in June and be in production in October. A 128-Mbit density chip will also sample later this year and be in production in 2003.
