French Prez Jacques Chirac hasn't been duped about the Karachi terrorist attack against French personnel:

* MIS A JOUR LE 14.05.02 | 17h11

The article's header alleges that Chirac phoned Sharon to protest against the unrelenting French-bashing and anti-Semitism slurs against France in the Israeli media... well, of course, I don't buy it. That kind of formal protesting is usually left to the ambassador and the diplomats or, if it really calls for a political pitch, to the Foreign Minister (currently Mr de Villepin). It's not up to the President to bring up such trivial matters in a phone conversation with another head of state. Hence methinks that Chirac's real concern was to tell Sharon that he doesn't want to attend other funerals of French nationals murdered by Mossad terrorists....
