How about the x-divident date, is that an official date that the stock gets knocked down say 2c for dividend? Then do you need a Add-dividend date to bump the stock up by 1c, say of all of the share holders only 1 of 2 was able to cash out his/her dividend?

Accounting-wise do you take a charge for the dividend at the x-dividend dates and at the end of the year realize a gain for all of the folks who did not cash their dividend or decided to cashout their devidend at 25c on the dollar, or do you roll the uncashed dividends to the next year's dividend cycle? If latter would be the choice, this could produce some lucrative dance dollor dividends in a few years.
