Hi!! RE: "fingers in many pies"... I guess it was many years ago that I read an article about the Philadelphia Shipyards...The back drop I witnessed many times as a kid growing up in Suburban Philly...Well, Congress was trying to pass a bill which two individuals (from this district in Philly) were so firmly against that they were the lead on the filibuster...Well, lo and behold other Congressmen threw umpteen millions of Federal money to this shipyard for "restoration" of ships that were earmarked for target practice...Thus ensuring umpteen more jobs that would be cut with the existing plans...Didn't take long to figure out how many families and votes this porkbarrel situation bought these two Congressmen...Yeah, they voted for the bill... :o) It's disgusting how often I view hypocrisy in our government.. and yet, I believe my history profs told me they were there to represent us and provide a better life... :o) Still the greatest country in the world...Make NO doubt about that...But, boy we still need that barbed wire enema that George Wallace used to say would be his #1 priority... :o) Best,Kemble
