Peter, Thanks for your response. Yes I agree that salary escallation will prove that resourses as well as time are running out. However as you pointed out, this is not an easy index to find and follow. I am really looking for some published leading market indicator that investors are becoming concerned.

If investors got "panicky", what would set them off? In a theater it might be a whiff of smoke, or a slight earthquate tremor. In such a situation, I would like to have the most sensitive nose or the most delicate sense of movement. Then I could get to the door before the crowd.

If really predictive, we could gain tremendous leverage by buying options or futures or even options on futures.

Your ideas have merrit, but I am not sure they will undully distrub the investment community.
