Will Abbott's Diagnostics Be Derailed? Matthew Herper, Forbes.com 05.15.02, 11:01 AM ET NEW YORK - Abbott Laboratories says its Lake County, Ill.-based manufacturing facilities failed to meet the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's quality-control standards. Abbott doesn't know what problems the FDA turned up in its 11-week inspection, so it cannot yet get a bearing on how much fixing the problems will cost it. But it's certainly bad news. forbes.com
