The Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee,has conveyed to the U.S. President, George Bush, that India would take "appropriate action'' in response to the terrorist
killings near Jammu on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister made this observation when Mr. Bush phoned him this evening.
The Prime Minister, in the light of the Jammu attack, had
declared in the Lok Sabha that "what has happened is very
heinous and we have to counter it".
