Zeev.. my argument is that if a company were to get creative with its books, since some deals can be long term in nature, companies create a deferred revenue liability when a deal is signed. As work on the contract progresses, deferred revenue on the balance sheet is reduced as income gets recognized. Typically this deferred revenue balance grows as new business comes in to offset that being worked off. In slow periods, however, companies are tempted to bring deferred revenues into the current quarter, and thats the point I was trying to make.. Mestin of course jumped all over me saying I had no clue as to what deferred revs are, all from a person whom I've yet to see make a buy or sell call anywhere and does nothing but criticize..
