russett, I am deeply impressed with all your homework and I promise you when I open my consultancy as an Aeronautical Fire Authority I will seek you in partnership but ---

--- I still want to know what happened to the aircraft.

Yes, I read, and I read, and I read, but nowhere does it say whether an aircraft, the size of the 757, can simply burn up. And, of course, who knows who any of these guys are and what their agenda is.

And, yes, I can state frankly that I am prejudiced. I do not believe the official version or its supporting theories. In fact, I believe that 911 was a "Pearl Harbor" type situation designed to enable to US to make war on whoever for tactical, strategic and/or economic reasons. If you wish to, read this, to see how nicely 911 fits into the scheme of things:

This cannot be the first time an airliner has hit a large building (and I'm not talking about the WTC which imploded) so there must be evidence as to what happens in other, let's say normal, circumstances. If and when I can read in black and white that an airliner (not on 911) can just vaporize or burn-up in a collision with a building, leaving no trace, then I will gladly concede defeat.

For my money, the evidence on the Pentagon indicates, unambiguously, that it was struck by a small aircraft or a cruise-missile and not an airliner. In fact, this is shown clearly on the video which was shown on CNN (in fact, I saw it) and which one can find on many sites as an animated gif file. It was apparently taken by a security camera at a nearby gas station. If you wish to you can copy it to your computer (right click on it) and look at it over and over. I have.

And, for what it's worth, who says a missile or fighter jet can't be painted to look like an American Airlines plane with insignia etc, which various observers appeared to notice.
