Excellent question. The biggest threat Iraq poses is to Israel, and only in the case of an American strike on Iraq. By the way, the Kurds are against the American plan. They say the guys we are suggesting to replace Hussein are just as bad as him. Crucially, if we install one of these guys, he will be powerful. The Kurds like a shackled Saddam better than what we are proposing. Noteably, democracy is not even being discussed by the U.S.
