Perhaps what is different is the fact you are not a woman and cannot exactly comprehend how it feels to be placed in such situations....
A few examples from my own life, which of course is not representative of most peoples's experiences, but perhaps may help you understand why I can clearly understand Poet's feelings.
When I was about 8 years old, I witnessed my mother being beat with a stick by a man who was giving her unwanted attention.... Her teeth were never the same. My first wife was brutally raped by a man who gave her unwanted attention.... My second wife (we actually lived together for five years), was molested as a little girl by a man who gave her unwanted attention, and she never got over it and it contributed to our breakup.... My current wife has been receiving unwanted attention at work for years, and that has been causing a lot of hassle for us. So, I am somewhat an expert in the field of unwanted attention from males to females, and you are starting to appear a bit insensitive to me in this area Neocon, and frankly, it turns me off to be honest with you. I hope and pray you will see things more clearly in the future, because there are many dangerous males in our society who can pull the wool over one's eyes with lots of intelligent talk, but using big words and bragging about how many books one has read has never impressed me, because it's the real person deep inside that counts in my book. |
