Rejecting one part of God's word leads me down a path to where I will begin to create my own religion and fall into the trap the likes of the New Age movement. Anyway, for one to focus on hell as a means of convincing another of the benefits of Christianity seems ridiculous to me..

And you don't think you aren't being a new age Christian believing so ? But I would not want you to end up in a firey place , just because you might have gotten the new intimation of some things older , finally right.

Anyway, for one to focus on hell as a means of convincing another of the benefits of Christianity seems ridiculous to me.

so you do "think" some things do change anew, and evolve don't they ? So many many centuries dwelling on the dogma of Hell and Satan, and wielding the sword of Peter to spread all that love ?

So love is the answer ? As i said before , love was considered the oldest of all the Gods of the Greeks,
Eros .

Given how much of what the thinkers of the Hellenes discovered before , that still survives and thrives everywhere today in art science philosophy and religion ...yes , we should never fall into the
trap of any of that new age stuff. <G>

Of course , Jesus in his day , was quite the new age fellow himself . Without the Greek thinkers , the Judaic/Christianity wouldn't have a body of coherent thought , to speak of . They were so far superior and advanced , and so the Jews hated them so. But reason also loves love , and the Greeks had figured that out long before the sophist of Jesus came hither.

and they made him into a God 460yrs later ...it was ever a metaphor for what always was. Even the Christians figured this out , using Greek logic of course...but it is man that was always the creator of the Gods isn't it ?

the heart hath it's reasons , that reason never knows

;-)
