I am truly sorry for the experiences you have had to go through. They do explain for me, which I hadn't understood before, the vehemence of some of your posting here.
While you may not recognize the difference, though, I think some people here recognize the vast difference between physical abuse between people who know each other and live in the same house, or community, or work in the same workplace, and electronic postings between two people who live 3,000 miles apart, who have never met or come, as far as I know, with hundreds of miles of each other, and when one is using an alias so nobody, unless she tells them, knows her real name, where she lives other than in New England, her phone number, her place of employment if any, etc., and where one can simply have her computer totally disregard the posting of the other is she chooses to.
This is simply not the kind of situation you have witnessed or experienced.
I doubt that you can recognize that, being as heavily invested as you are in your perceptions, but I think others here may be better able to. |
