Thanks for the information and update, Leonard. It's nice to see that even with the poor performance of this stock, shareholders are discussing things and this thread is active. Information is important. I want to go over an assortment of details.
First, I just dug out the most recent mailing I received with DAK's balance sheets and some other material (received April 01/97). Since the latest financial statements issued is for the quarter ended December 31, 1996, I believe we should be expecting a quarterly report for March 31, 1996 soon (as in a few weeks ago!).
How much time do public companies have to file such a report? I thought it was 3 mo, but my mind could be playing tricks on me again. This point worries me since I still hold all my shares (and then some after trying to average down); I suspect that if the company is delinquent in filing, it may be halted (as has happened with other companies I've invested in or watched in the past). I'd prefer to lose a lot rather than losing it all in the end.
I tried to find Dakota Resources in the Calgary yellow and white pages with no success. Does it have some other trade name? Even a phone/address cross-reference reveals nothing. Is this company for real??? No "Dakota" in the WP, and not under "Minerals", "Mining...", or related headings in the YP.
I concur with the address for DAK in Canada Stockwatch, which coincides with the documents mailed in April:
DAK - Dakota Resources Ltd
Company info: - Shares issued: 16,179,587 Exchanges: A - 12/01/96 working cap ($349,000.00) - Address: 1420 - 734 7th Ave SW Calgary AB T2P 3P8 - Phone 403 221 7715
I checked on the Canstock database as well, and found a completely different (out of date??) address and number. The phone number is not in service, but the fax line is indeed serviced by a fax machine (whose, I do not know).

Anyone familiar with the contact name? I've never seen it anywhere, and cannot find reference to it. Is that the CFO?
The lack of available information is making me nervous... it goes to show I should have really studied this one more closely before diving in. Of course, as they say, hind-sight is always 20/20.
Thanks in advance for any additional information, and all the best to fellow investors.
