Hi Karen, Re: Bush's foreknowledge of plane hijackings. On October 25, 1999, golf professional Payne Stewart died in tragic accident. Shortly after the plane he was on deviated from its flight plan, the Air Force scrambled two F-16s. af.mil Having been alerted at approximately 10:00 AM that the Lear Jet was deviating from the specified altitude, an F16 was scrambled from Eglin AFB and "contacted" the Lear jet by about 10:30 AM. A 30 minute response time. Which begs the question, where was the Air Force on the morning of Sept. 11? I've seen no indication of any Air Force aircraft in the vicinity of any of the four hi-jacked airliners. Perhaps someone on the thread can help me to put to rest the speculation that the Air Force for some inexplicable reason did not send interceptors to escort the hijacked airliners. I'd love to hear a good explanation of Air Force policy and actions on the morning of Sept. 11. I have seen nothing to satisfy my curiosity up to now. All the best, Ray
