I played enough sandlot football as a kid to know the joy of piling on at the end of a play.

Particularly when you had a big kid on the other side who you thought had been pounding too hard on one of your players, when you finally got them down it was time to get the whole team to leap merrily on the pile. Served him right.

So I do understand the dymanics of this situation.

But there came a time to unpile, patch up the quarrel, and get on with the game.

Perhaps that time has come here, and we can settle all this and get on with the game?
