I figured out the other "problem" with Newmont's quarterly production numbers - they only included six (6) weeks of Normandy production. NEM reported 1.46moz, but another 7 weeks of Normandy would bring them close to 1.7moz/quarter, which puts them closer on track to do 7.6moz annually.

Both Newmont and Barrick are having problems with Nevada operations, Newmont's production dropped 123,500 ounces to 606,100 with costs going from $200 to $239. Barrick dropped 129,425 to 484,053 with costs going from $173 to $217. Good thing both of them are mining elsewhere in the world.
