Re: current account deficit. So many things get lumped into the current account. If the US government gives aid to Third World countries, that increases the current account deficit. If Kiwis, Germans, Chinese, Australians, Canadians, Brazilians (have I left anyone out?) buy Qualcomm stock, that increases the current account deficit.

In other words, it's not just consumption being paid for by debt.

You seem to be a very pessimistic person. Life is full of bad things, but it's fuller of good things.
