Jim,

Maybe you could help me. I am in full agreement with you on Canada and have a position in FCO. My thoughts have been to find an oil/gas company in Canada to buy that trades here in the states. Do you have some thoughts? Am looking for a grandma type of oil company as I do not want to speculate on "juniors". Have been looking at a few, but am waiting for the price of oil to drop as I am in the camp where the recession is in front of us not behind us.

One group of stocks I am also watching are the coal companies in this country. The prices for these stocks are slowly dropping. I don't think we will be able to buy them for the price we did in 2000, but at some point in time they will bottom out. Some of these stocks also pay nice dividends.

Speaking of food, I am an owner of ADM - have been for decades. Use it as a trading sardine when the opportunity arises. Am looking to do a spread conversion on the stock with the crap that is going on away from the equity markets these days.

Joan
