I typed 100 units per quarter when I meant to say 1000. I had actually gone to bed when the mistake hit me, and I just can't leave that error uncorrected and still sleep, so I had to reboot just for this post. <g>.
To clarify though, the military just expended over 6,000 JDAMs in Afghanistan. Current production is 1,000 units per month, going to 1,500 per month later this year. But the military would now like ALL bombs to be smart bombs, and wants to go to 2,800 units per month this year. It looks like the increase is already funded too.

The CC transcript indicates that the current supplier can't scale to that level in the near term, and the shortfall appears to be up to 3,900 units per quarter, hence this golden opportunity, which would seem to be larger than the 1K units per quarter I used (or meant to use) in my previous post. |
