Perverse. Soviets chose Breznev, Iraqi people chose Saddam? It is the lengthy process of moving toward Democracy, where People are not afraid to voice opinion, rule of Law, Free Press and so on that counts, not a "Leader".....Elementary, ah?

PS But your point is well aken, not possible in Arab society
