A few months ago I bought a book for $5 on Amazon called "100 Best Internet Stocks to Own" by Greg Kyle. It was published some time around the middle of the year 2000 (the stock price charts are as of 4/20/2000, and many of them have already started to break down quite badly).

Obviously this was not the only sign of "the top," but it is an eloquent souvenir of the dot-com mania. Here's the back cover, and, aside from the foaming-mouth hyperbole, there are two items of note: one, the fact that the word "risk" does appear once (g), and two, the fact that the site for "online updates" topinternetstocks.com is dead.

One day I plan to put up a page or two with commentary on the book as a whole. But for now here's a scan of the two pages devoted to InfoSpace.com, Inc.

The profile pretty much speaks for itself (uncritical regurgitation of the optimistic company line), but note the conservative revenue prediction/projection:

"an estimated $178 billion in 2003 (Internet advertising: $12.5 billion, B2C e-commerce: $165 billion)."
