Paul,
I've been reading this thread awhile, but remained inactive as
little information seems to be retrieved based on relavent corporate
information. As Intel is my major stock holding, it will play a big part
in my ability to stay in early retirement from Texas Instruments. I vision
these 2 semis as the dominent players beyond 2000.
I do see a contridiction in the forcast of Intel's announcement
comming this Tuesday. Compact and Dell seem to be storming off
into the future with very positive releases. Can this really happen
without Intel following suit? I know start up costs of the new .25U
fabs run about $1b a pop, but only Intc and Txn are capable of this
feat, to my knowledge, from cash flow. This will position them above
all others in the industry. Using foundrys as Cyrex does can't cut the
mustard. If investors are so short sighted as to trigger from short term
earnings of intel, I see more great buying opportunities. How Msft
can run P/E's > 40 and Intc around 20 just blows my mind. Of course
theres not much room for damage left up there. T.I. pretty much
sucked it dry?
Regards, Larry
