Scott, if you listened to my rants about my experience in the federal gov't, it would not be much of a surprise. Bumbling bureaucrats........ first & foremost....... many of these buffoons treating their area of control like their own little fiefdom with absolutely no concern with the vast waste of resources & tax $$ are involved...... Next biggest problem....... perceived competition between agencies & the desire to beat the other agencies to the punch....... rather than a spirit of cooperation & working toward a common goal...... much of it due to performance goals that reward individual accomplishments (stats) in house with absolutely no incentives or rewards for intra-agency cooperation....... on a more grand scale agencie's compete for their funding each year & justify their budget requests based on the results (stats) each agency accomplished..... thus any cooperation with other agencie's dilutes your agencies stats while improving your competition's stats. I could go on Scott. Don't even think it has changed since 9/11....... it may have changed only for a very short time..... a mere blip on the chart..... but these bumbling bureaucrats are loathe to change..... or give up their fiefdoms/power bases. OOF Ö¿Ö
