"AMD does seem to be doing well."

Seems like the things are picking up. Having a tour
to local Fry's this evening, I noticed a serious come back of AMD
in retail - my impression was that 1/3 of machines
were 1.1-1.3 Celerons, 1/3 were Athlons XP 1600+ - 2000+
the last 1/3 were P-4, but mostly 1.6-1.8GHz, rarely
2 or 2.2, and no 2.4 or 2.53 whatsoever. Just when I
walked through the isle, two "family" guys
were taking home Athlons XP 1600+ in e-Machines boxes,
$599/box, no other sales. Funny, how the price point
makes a difference...

On another note, I counted 4 different dual-Athlon boards, for $280
- $350, and maybe only 2 P-III, for $400-$500. Do not
remember seeing any P-4 dual boards.

Take care,

- Ali
