Intel moved faster on .13 because Intel had too. The P4 was dog meat on .18 and had to go to a larger cache, which required .13 , in order to keep the P4 competitive.

Sorry Harry, Intel was making money on .18u and they moved to .13u because they could. AMD was maxed out on their fab output, partly because of their yield problems and partly because they only have 1 dinky fab making copper athlons. AMD is losing money and can't get .13u to work. They have to and they can't.

While Intel's process may be healthy, the P4 isn't necessarily so. The P4 is staying alive only because AMD hasn't gone to .13 on SOI yet.

Oh this makes a lot of sense. Translation... Intel is ahead because they're ahead.

My bet is that Hammer will take away that process advantage.

My bet is you're wrong. There's no evidence that Hammer will even beat a Northwood much less a Prescott and there's no evidence that .13u works much less SOI.

Put your money where your mouth is, tell us your AMD position (not share amount). What did you buy in at? Are you writing any Calls? I'm making money on AMD even though I know it won't go anywhere because they don't have the technology.
