Milo, Re: "NW hits a wall on 3.4Ghz, K8 is over 4000+"

Written like a true AMDroid. While Van Smith might make some good points about Northwood headroom, he's still trying to compare it against AMD's original model number roadmap, which he assumes will still be accurate, much less POR.

You see, Milo, I believe K8 will be a fantastic product. Unlike Elmer and some others, I fully expect AMD to take the performance crown from Intel by the end of this year, allowing them to increase ASPs in 2003, and increase market share through larger volumes with their foundry partnership with UMC. Yet cheerleaders like Van Smith so predictably try to overexaggerate the possible benefits to make it look like a clean sweep, with a purpose that seems unknown (but given his usual rhetoric, one can only assume regular FUD). And fellow cheerleaders like yourself eat it all up, because anything that's bad for Intel makes people like you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's funny that you use the bandwidth on this investment forum to further your cheerleading efforts, rather than make any attempt at discussing realistic movements in the stock price.

Do you have any comments, then, about how this story will affect AMD stock, or will you be content to leave your post ending with the word "OUCH", bashing Intel like an idiot?
