Simon, I know for a fact that the SI boards are monitored by Investors Relations of respective companies, money managers, analysts, and more. I wouldn't be surprised if the market makers followed the SI too since it's the #1 message board on the Internet. As for bull traps and bear traps, these are just normal fluctuations in the market for heavy volume stocks. In heavily traded stocks like ASND with many market makers, it is not likely to be manipulated in trying to trap the bears or bulls at certain prices. On the otherhand, in stocks with few market makers, it's possible that they can band together and drive prices up and down.
