You wrote, regarding storage of digital photos on hard disk, "Just don't have a disk crash."
Surely, you can get around this by
1. partitioning your H.D. into two or more partitions with the help, say, of Partition Magic 7, and storing your photos on a partition other than C partition where the operating system normally resides.
2. connecting a slave H.D. to your master H.D. and storing your photos on the slave H.D.
If you do either 1 or 2, then when a crash occurs, only the C partition (operating system partition) needs to be resurrected, and the rest and the slave disk are unaffected.
By the way, if your pc has a CD burner, you can store your photos on CDs.
Nowadays, hard drives are becoming less and less expensive. At Costco in my area, a Maxtor 80-gigabyte H.D. sells for C$220 plus GST & PST. |
