Mar and I were, indeed, discussing a trip to the old sod, just this weekend.
How such a trip would materialize is beyond my ken.
She works and works and works some more with precious little ease in sight. Def a type A personality with severe tendencies toward workaholicism. Me, I'm a type Cminus..... laid back, seldom worry, exercise a lot *(mental, NOT physical), AND lucky.... yep, type Cminus.
For example, this Sunday is our 40th annv ...
back during the winter, tentatively planned on a trip to Hawaii but, NO reservations made ....
then date got closer and "well, that will take a week, and I have leventy seven budgets, etc for which lengthy preparations will be demanded of me" I hear from her .... so how about Puerto Vallarta for five days, I inquire .... beaches AND mountains and no all day plane ride .... hey ... I got so far as to have picked out the final three hotels from which she could select ---- Westin Regina or Sheraton Bouganvilla or Krystal ....
about three weeks ago, as I'm on the verge of making the final deal --- up jumps ANOTHER problem as to time ......*(hers, NOT mine, for, as you know, I have FEW problems being a type Cminus)
so
San Antonio ---- for four days ..... alright ----- research the newer resorts out to the west and find a couple of pretty nice layouts ... Hyatt Regency Hill Country and Raddison Hill Country West *(good looking golferball places on site) and, the Westin La Canterra slightly north of the city --- nice place, too....
now, I'm getting firm on the deal ... have notified the neighbors, the mailman, the two paperdelivrypersons, got the yard guy coming every day to make sure the sprinkler system functions properly and waters ALL my pots .... uh ohhhhhhhhh
danged if time hasn't gotten BACK into the pic .....
so --- the long trip has now turned into ONE night at the Westin StoneBriar (I've sent you pics of the Tom Fazio golferball layout there, as we've stayed numerous times) and a concert by José Feliciano at Meyerson Hall.
I'm firmly convinced that the closest I'll come to a trip to Ireland and those multi fab links you've posted ----- is one to the birthplace of Bantam Ben Hogan dublintexas.com
OH YEAH ... my buddy JT, here on SI, has sent me a site at which I can re-hone my golferball skills ..... people.fas.harvard.edu |
