You are 98% correct. The one error is that even if Canuck lumber was not as good as US farm grown wood, it still would not make any sense to restrict it. Perhaps Microsoft can manufacture pencils better than Tiaconderoga, should they? How about paper clips? Lug nuts for tiers? etc etc The same is true for nations.
