After 24 years flights resumed to Kabul from my city..I feel good today to be able to lfy back to a city where I went in 1969 the first time to buy the first family VW..beetle..what a great city Kabul was..

Pakistan International Airlines on Tuesday restored its air link with the brotherly country of Afghanistan after pause of around 24 years when its boeing-737 left here for Kabul, said sources.

Secretary Defence Lt. Gen (R) Hamid Nawaz bade farewell to the inaugural flight which carried 59 passengers on-board including a 32-member official delegation.

The delegation was headed by Minister for Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Awais Ghani. Secretary Information and Media Development Syed Anwar Mahmood and a number of Editors and senior journalists included the delegates.

The agreement to resume commercial flights between both the neighbourly countries was reached earlier this month here during talks between Minister for Finance Shaukat Aziz and his Afghan counterpart Hedayat Amin Arsala.

Both the airlines would operate once a week flight each and those will return the same day to their respective originating stations. PIA has been appointed as Ariana's General Sales Agent (GSA) for Pakistan besides providing Ground Handling Services.
