why did the taliban abuse its own citezens

mike, we gave up the right to even pretend we care what the taliban was doing to its own when we sent our representatives over there with bags of cash for them.

WE FINANCED THEM.

We armed them and we financed them.

The sick irony of all this is that those are our own dollars being used against us. Some of it direct - as when Colin Powell visited the Taliban and gave them a @#$% check - some of it indirect through our so-called allies like sa'ud royal family.

we paid a heavy price for our taliban entanglement, it scares the p*** out of me to think what we might have to pay for our support and coddling of the hillbillies from riyadh.

and again, this has nothing to do with the totally justified hunting down of the bastards responsible for 9-11.
