Very timely thread

As has already been posted in a number of the company-specific Y2K threads, Barron's has run a somewhat panicky overview of the problem in today's issue (available online at barrons.com which is still available with free registration)

I have a very simple personal plan to deal with the problem. As a retired mainframe programmer heavily invested in technology stocks I will wait for my phone to ring. If the "crisis" is as bad as Barron's and others seem to believe it is, in about another year I should start getting desperate calls offering six-figure contract positions, which should amply cushion whatever temporary downturn my stocks may see. Until then, I'll stick with INTC, MSFT, CPQ and the other proven winners which Barron's believes are headed for imminent disaster.
