David,

You are too funny.

Re: $130 basic fee+$1000 premium processing fee + $1700 lawyer + costs + c. $A300 at Sydney A

I understand the "basic" fee. Premium processing is called 'grease' and it is nothing more than graft, the 1700 lawyer fee has been traditional since Marco Polo daze. It's the usual gratuity that must be paid. But the Aussie 300 hundred baffles me. Who collects this bit of corruption?

Which begs the question, are you cumming to America to tout free markets? If so, I'm worried. As a building contractor in this country for almost three decades, I never paid a bribe and I never got rich. But I got along pretty nicely. Have things deteriorated so completely that you are willing to pay all these bribes in order to get a chance to get into this country? If so, I'm mortified at how far down the track of moral degradation we have slid in the last few years. I was only beginning to witness these "fast track" - "greaser" options when I gave up on the game about four years ago. I now see, from your corresopondence, that the degradation of the American bureaucracy into fully depraved corruption seems to be fully bloomed. God help this world. I think we have reached the tipping point into total depravity.

I'm a huge fan of the protesters in Berlin who are hoisting the placards: BUSH - Eat more pretzels!

To listen to how a fine man, and a well credentialled one like you has to sink to the depravity of corruption to get into this country..... well all I can say is that the species hasn't turn out so well. Maybe we ought to give the planet back to more promising prospects.

We could start to destroy ourselves in the Kashmir. Wouldn't that be a good place to begin?
