This whole issue of new applications and public demand for BREW, Quicken on cell phones, etc...is very similar to the digital camera market. Once claimed to be the death of traditional cameras and film, digital cameras have not met their market expectataions (it was also supposed to put a tremendous pressure on silver...as in the silver used in photo development...that certainly hasn't happened).

I know lots of techies love to fiddle with their computers, download photos, etc....but that market appears to be saturated now. For the rest of the planet, screwing with a new technology, spending hours playing on the computer monkeying with photos, just isn't worth the time. Lots of SLR's laying around and lots of film being used.

The point is change is slow...very slow. The use of cell phones for voice is fine, but even that market is slowing down. Not good for a growth company. The time and required paradigm shift people will need to desire George Jetson like BREW applications is much to daunting to be considered as a viable factor for a stock investment at this time.

QCOM has the goods, but the people could care less. Unfortunately, the debt levels of the buyers does matter.
