I'm very excited by Compaq's low end PCs. The overseas markets are very price sensitive, but they are smart, too and won't buy second class merchandise. Compaq is selling first quality at a fantastic price. Overseas sales will continue to grow faster than US sales for quite a while.

In the US, Cheap PCs with a good collection of bells and whistles will sell to families who have been wanting to buy a PC for their kids but only now can afford it. PCs are also becoming required at virtually all colleges, even many junior colleges.

I agree with Harry Landseidel's remarks in 4011, that what makes Compaq great is their breadth. They do it all and they do it very well.
