WE'RE AT WAR...and by the way, the PIPELINE IS A GO

MSI,

Here's a Ted Rall op/ed piece that contains a pretty important hint as to why we attacked the Taliban:

No one can deny that the Bushies and their corporate sponsors benefited enormously from 9-11; the post-Taliban Afghan pipeline deal (closed March 7 in Islamabad) alone is worth billions of dollars.

I have not seen any other news items on this contract signing, though it has been hinted at broadly here at SI and elsewhere. Do you, or anyone, have any URLs with reports on this pipeline deal. This is, of course, always been why I thought we were in Afghanistan in the first place. The cozying up to the dictators in the 'Stans is just another piece of this puzzle. I haven't had time to digest the implications of the news today that there has been a power struggle in Kazakstan. More on this as information flows. Things are moving ahead nicely for Chevron, Exxon and the boys.... <g>
