Funny how the television shows of long ago do bring back memories of family time. Which is interesting because we worry now so much about how much damage tv can do.
Since we always had our big meal after Mass on Sundays, the evening meal always consisted of either waffles, or sandwiches from the leftovers, with cups of sweet milky tea.
It was carefully timed so that we could eat on ugly metal tv trays and watch Disney. Those were such wonderful shows though. I loved the nature ones where the flowers bloomed fast.
And I think Disney was followed by Ed Sullivan.

My father loved All in the Family- and he'd have given your father competition as an Archie clone. I became a Democrat in the late 60s in college, and I could no more have broken his heart had I announced I was on drugs and not a virgin. In fact, that would probably have been preferable.

You mean grandkids give you a legitimate reason to nap? I can't wait.
