Hi Sig, long time no talk. In the last few months I have stopped whining and pouting and become more and more comfortable and knowledgeable about the market. Now I short a little (at the moment ba and pmcs) and go long a lot (dfxi now nls and gold stocks). Buying gold stocks is like shorting: they go up when the market go down and they USED to go down when the market goes up but I"m not sure they do the latter anymore. Look at hgmcy and gg. Great charts, great fundamentals. I have stopped losing money and I'll let you know when I am making money. I also have a portion in the Wasatch funds: I'm going to just ignore that investment for a while since the fund is closed to both new and existing investors and just check the numbers and stocks every quarter.
